Welcome to the ‘Introducing’ a feature dedicated to putting a spotlight on some of the greatest bands around whether they be big or small. In the ‘Introducing’ feature we put a spotlight on an AMAZING band who you may not be aware of and we think you NEED to check out!
For this instalment of the ‘Introducing’ feature we have a brilliant female fronted metal-core band who hail from Reggio Emilia, Italy. The band effortlessly combine metal riffs, pounding drum beats and killer vocals to create the most hardcore thing to come out of Italy since the Colosseum.
Bloom is the lead single taken from the bands debut E.P. of the same name that was released in 2017. The single was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Wavemotion Recordings, and the music video for Bloom was directed by Zak Pinchin Media and is out now via the sublime Dreambound Record company.
Despite some modern metal-core aspects, the most interesting thing about Amber Town’s Bloom E.P. is how it can ratchet up the brutality and hit just as hard as any of the metal-core classics. The E.P. offers a wide variety of musical styles and each track sounds different enough from the last to hold back fatigue for the listener.
There’s plenty of visceral riffs to be found, along with some rather brutal vocal work from singer Elektra. Seriously, the vocal range that the singer Elektra Amber shows throughout the E.P. is simply staggering. For a debut release the E.P. is way more mature than expected and the production is through the roof.
Generally speaking, the focus throughout the E.P. tends to be on the lighter, more melodic tracks but the band can get hard and heavy when they want to. When they go melodic, it’s also all-in, with both memorable vocal lines and hooks. It’s a livelier combination than many other groups shoot for, and one ripe with potential moving forward.
One thing’s for sure, if Amber Town continue to adapt and hone their sound in the same vein as Bloom then the band are heading straight to the top of the metal-core world.
